  31. DESCRIPTION
  32.     The main purpose of EpsLab is to add a preview image to
  33.     Encapsulated PostScript (EPSF) files. The preview image allows
  34.     for faster manipulation and better representation of EPSF images
  35.     imported into many word processors, DTP systems, vector graphics
  36.     programs etc.
  37.  
  38.     Also, EpsLab can also convert many single-page PostScript
  39.     files to EPS files with preview image, by locating the position
  40.     and extension of objects drawn on the page.
  41.     The preview image can be provided by the user in the form of
  42.     a TIFF or Windows MetaFile image, or it can be created by
  43.     EpsLab by interpreting the PostScript code.
  44.     The output of EpsLab can be either the MS-DOS binary EPSF format,
  45.     which has a TIFF preview image appended, or the Encapsulated
  46.     PostScript Interchange (EPSI) format, which has an embedded
  47.     ASCII preview.

  56. SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
  57.     The only basic requirement is AmigaOS 2.0 or better.
  58.  
  59.     Memory requirements depend on the size and complexity
  60.     of the EPS/PostScript files you want to convert, but
  61.     1 Mb of chip RAM and 1 MB of fast RAM will suffice in
  62.     most cases.

  64.     Creation of preview images is done using the included
  65.     post.library by Adrian Aylward. Included is also a rather
  66.     simple PostScript font (FunkyFont by Radical Eye Software),
  67.     but you may want more fonts so you can get better previews.
  68.     One good source is Post, a freely distributable PostScript
  69.     interpreter, also by Adrian Aylward. You can find it on Aminet
  70.     in /pub/aminet/text/print as Post186enh_bin.lha. With Post you
  71.     can also find an optimized version of the post.library which takes
  72.     advantage of the math coprocessor (FPU) if you have one.
